THE FARM
What are you fighting for?
The Story
A storm brews in the heart of the city as the grieving matriarch of a misunderstood community fights to preserve the land her family calls home, while external forces push forward with their own agendas. Newcomer Father Dominic finds himself torn between the rising tensions between mothers and sons, lovers, and neighbours.
As the threat of forced eviction looms, the question arises: can love and unity break the cycle of displacement? And in a battle where no one seems to win, what is worth fighting for?
Audience Response
This play drops us into one family’s fight to hold onto their home and way of life. At the heart of this story is a family of human beings with the same right to a home, safety and dignity as anyone else. What Kate has written is a universal story about a family under pressure, full of humour, conflict, care and resilience.
